Periodic Table Element Tile
In my biochemistry class, we studied the Periodic Table. We were given information about the Table such as valence electrons corresponding with the number of groups. Mrs. Gaines then assigns my group and I a project to paint a tile that will convert the meaning of the element Fluorine. Our team first researched the group number, what type of element it was, its atomic mass, and number. Once we gathered that information we found that Fluorine was found in toothpaste. We all came to a conclusion of using Chip Skylark for the show "Fairly Odd Parents” as the creative image for the tile. On the show Skylark has perfect teeth and always takes care of his teeth using toothpaste. My teammate Alexis made sketch in pencil of the design. As a team of four we each painted the tile. As shown on the left side the tile has the name Fluorine, atomic number 9. atomic mass of 18.998, it is in group 17, and it is classified as a halogen.
